Kickstart 101 is a six-week Summer School paper (PACR 101) for Pacific and Māori students.
The programme has been run under the name KIKS (Kia Ita and KickStart) as a collaborative venture between Te Huka Mātauraka and the Pacific Islands Centre.
The course is open to all Pacific and Māori students who:
- Are entering first-year tertiary study at the University of Otago
- Have either shown an interest or already applied to study at the University of Otago
This programme is recommended for Year 13 Pacific school leavers who are transitioning out of high school at the end of 2026.

The paper runs from Monday, 11 January 2027 until Friday, 19 February 2027
