MATLAB usage and licence terms
- Staff and students can use MATLAB software on University of Otago-owned computers
- Staff and students can use MATLAB software on their personally-owned computers for University work only. They can only do so while they are University of Otago employees or students. A separate MATLAB licence must be requested to be installed onto a personally-owned computer
- MATLAB is available for request on the virtual Student and Staff Desktops. It may already be available on the virtual Student Desktop based on your class enrolment

Complete the online Software Order Form to order MATLAB.
Staff who wish to use MATLAB on their home computer also need to complete a Work at Home Application form (PDF 54KB) and email it to its.software@otago.ac.nz
Students
To request MATLAB on your own device, complete the online Student Software Request form You will need to sign in using your student username and ID number.
For University-owned devices, contact a staff member from your department to complete the online Software Order Form on your behalf.
