The UCAT is a requirement of the admission process for Medicine. The score you receive is only valid in the year that you apply, that means for that application cycle only.

Domestic applicants must have a UCAT result obtained in the year of application and have achieved a score in all five of the UCAT sections at a threshold level determined annually by the Medical Admissions Committee.

The UCAT is required for all domestic Health Science First Year (HSFY) students and Graduate Category applicants considering applying for Medicine. A UCAT score is not required for applications to Medicine through the Alternative category. The UCAT is not required for any international students.

UCAT is run by Pearson, not the University of Otago. Enrolments are managed directly through the UCAT website

If you experience issues with your application, or if you need disability support, contact UCAT directly in advance to ensure appropriate arrangements are in place.
