Student Placement and Activities Fee

The Student Placement and Activities Fee (also called an Entry or Acceptance Fee) is due within 14 days of receiving an offer-of-place for the residential college. If you wish to discuss this payment, contact the college directly after receiving your offer letter. Note that the Fee needs to be paid as a lump sum.

You can withdraw from your place at most residential colleges prior to 1 February and receive a 50% refund of the Student Placement and Activities Fee (this excludes St Margaret's College). After this date, the Fee is non-refundable. The Student Placement and Activities Fee is also fully refundable if you do not achieve university entrance.

If you have an offer from a University-owned college and do not get into Bachelor of Teaching (BTchg) or Bachelor of Oral Health (BOH), you will be entitled to a 100% refund of the Student Placement and Activities Fee. If you have an offer from one of the University-owned colleges and get into Radiation Therapy (which is based at the Wellington campus) you will also be entitled to a 100% refund of the Fee.

If you have an offer from an affiliated college and you either do not get admitted to BTchg or BOH, or receive a place in Radiation Therapy in Wellington, you will need to contact the college directly for their policy on refunds.
