Students on conditional enrolment are required to complete a Back on track plan and submit this to a Designated Adviser of Studies in Student Development.

If you are on conditional enrolment a completed Back on track plan is required before your paper selection can be course approved. A link to the Back on track plan can be found in the eVision notification alert about your conditional enrolment status, or you can access it from the link below:

Back on track plan for conditional enrolment

The Back on track plan asks you to:

  • Reflect on the circumstances that occurred during your previous year of study that led you to fail more than half your points in that year
  • Identify what you are going to do differently in the coming academic year to improve your study and pass more than half your points over the year
  • Identify support services you will use throughout the year to ensure you have a successful year of study

You must submit your Back on track plan before your paper selection can be approved.

If you would like advice regarding what conditional enrolment means for you, or support completing your Back on track plan, you can contact a Designated Adviser of Studies in Student Development by email student.development@otago.ac.nz or by making an appointment using the online booking request form

Further information

Any contact from a student regarding their Back on track plan should be assigned in CRSM to Student Development, once the student is verified.

If the student has not provided their Back on track plan, their course will be declined in the first instance, and they will be asked to provide their Back on track plan. If the student resubmits their paper selection and Student Development has still not received their Back on track plan, Student Development will change the Course approval category to Conditional enrolment – study plan required.
