The University of Otago's wireless/Wi-Fi network is a WPA2-Enterprise network. Most gaming consoles (PlayStation/Xbox/Nintendo) or smart home devices (Amazon Alexa or Echo/Google Home/Nest) generally do not support WPA2-Enterprise which is required on the University's wireless network. The University-owned residential colleges are affected by this.
The other University-affiliated residential colleges use their own network infrastructure. Contact your college administration to find out if these devices are supported.
