The University of Otago's wireless/Wi-Fi network is a WPA2-Enterprise network. Most gaming and smart devices do not support WPA2-Enterprise. The University-owned residential colleges are affected by this.
The other University-affiliated residential colleges use their own network infrastructure. Contact your college administration to see if these devices are supported.

If the device in question has an Ethernet port, the student may enquire if they can use that to connect to the network. Ethernet access for headless devices requires them to be registered on the network, and due to network security requirements we are unable to register personal student devices on the University network.
