GraphPad Prism is a software tool that combines basic biostatistics, curve fitting, and scientific graphing into one application.

How do I install GraphPad Prism

To install GraphPad Prism as a student:

  1. Request a licence using the Student Software request form.
  2. Your request will need to be approved by a staff member in your department willing to be responsible for your licence.
  3. Once the licence is issued, download GraphPad Prism from the GraphPad website

On University of Otago-owned devices, you will need a staff member from your department to request this software on your behalf.

To activate GraphPad Prism:

  1. When running GraphPad Prism for the first time, you will be prompted to enter a serial number. This can be found on the PDF sent to you alongside your licence confirmation.
  2. Once your serial number has been entered, you will be redirected to a Prism registration page. Leave Machine ID and Serial Number as their defaults.
  3. In the fields Email and Confirm Email enter this as either student.it@otago.ac.nz (for students) or askotago.it@otago.ac.nz (for staff).
  4. Enter your first and last name, then under Institution enter university of otago.
  5. Click Submit and enter the activation code back into GraphPad Prism. After accepting the licence agreement, GraphPad Prism will now be activated and ready to use.

To install GraphPad Prism on your own device as a staff member:

  1. Request a software licence
  2. Once the licence is issued, download GraphPad Prism from the GraphPad website
  3. Follow the activation steps above.

GraphPad Prism can then be downloaded on some University-owned devices from Software Center/Company Portal once a licence has been requested. If GraphPad Prism is not available to download from Software Center or Company Portal, or you don't have access to Software Center/Company Portal, contact AskOtago.
