The Accelerated Maths Programme (AMP) aims to build students' confidence in mathematics problem-solving, particularly in the topics of numeric reasoning, basic algebra, probability, and statistics.
AMP comprises two components:
- Topic-specific workshops
- One-to-one coaching with senior students who successfully completed first-year quantitative papers
Workshops aim to build conceptual knowledge and confidence in maths. These are delivered by trained mathematics tutors who are familiar with the curriculum. The AMP workshops run for 50 minutes from the second week of each semester, for a period of three weeks.
Coaching Sessions, provided by senior students, provide a one-to-one setting to ask questions and to receive individual support. These are limited to 30 minutes. To book a one-on-one AMP Coaching Session, email: sas@otago.ac.nz
