If you wish to apply for an external University username, first read the guidelines and information to make sure you are eligible:

External usernames expire after two years, or three and a half years for Clinical Lecturers.

Who is this available to

Anyone who has ongoing relationship or business with the University and who needs to access University systems and/or IT services.

How do I request an external username

To request an external username:

  1. Ensure you have authorisation from the relevant head of department or their delegated authority.
  2. Open the External Account Request form.
  3. Select the request type.
  4. Complete the required fields.
  5. Add any additional information where necessary.
  6. Submit the form.

Open form

If you are a staff member, you can request an external username for someone who does not have an employment agreement with the University.

To request an external username on behalf of someone else:

  1. Ensure you have the appropriate authorisation from the relevant head of department or their delegated authority.
  2. Open the External Account Request form, for logged in users.
  3. Select the request type.
  4. Complete the required fields.
  5. Add any additional information where necessary.
  6. Submit the form.
