A recount of results involves a careful check of the marks that count towards your final result in a paper, to ensure that nothing has been overlooked. Your work is not re-marked. The University of Otago does not have provisions for the re-marking of examination scripts.
Recount applications are open in weeks 1 to 4 from release of results. For 2026 this is:
- Summer School: Monday 2 March to Sunday 29 March 2026
- Semester 1: Monday 29 June to Sunday 26 July 2026
- Semester 2: Monday 23 November 2026 to Sunday 20 December 2026
It may take two to three weeks to be advised of the outcome of a recount of results application. You will be contacted at your student email address. If you would like to check the status of your application, contact Student Administration:
